Last Days in Santander

Last Days in Santander

I haven’t been updating my blog regularly because I wanted to really enjoy my last days in Spain. Also, every time I thought about how these were my last days, I’d get sad and not want to right about it. So these posts are coming from the United States. I’m home now and I’ve never been more sad about it. The last days in Spain were some of the best and with the next few blog posts you’ll see why leaving on April 25...Read More
A Weekend in Berlin: Last Trip of the Semester

A Weekend in Berlin: Last Trip of the Semester

I honestly had no intentions of coming to Berlin. It wasn't a destination that I had dreamed of going to or had plan to travel to from the start. So why am I here? Because, one day, I was on ryanair.com looking at flights and a $70 roundtrip flight from Santander to Berlin popped up and it's not every day that you see $70 roundtrip flights, so to Berlin it was. We got to Berlin late Thursday night--we couldn't leave until the evening because...Read More
Dublin Day Two: Cliffs of Moher and Irish Nightlife

Dublin Day Two: Cliffs of Moher and Irish Nightlife

There’s just certain things you have to do when you go to Ireland: drink Guinness, dance in pubs, but most importantly, see the Cliffs of Moher. So today at 7:30am we began our day trip to the cliffs. The Cliffs of Moher are Ireland’s most visited natural attraction. They’re huge sea cliffs that are breathtakingly impressive. Our journey began by driving to the cliffs. We stopped in Moneygall County which houses the Barack Obama Plaza. Yes, that Barack Obama, the former president of the...Read More
Dublin Day One: Kilmainham Gaol, Phoenix Park, and more

Dublin Day One: Kilmainham Gaol, Phoenix Park, and more

Yesterday, my friend and I arrived in Dublin, our last stop for our Semana Santa trip. We didn't do much yesterday--walked around, ate deliciously cheap burritos, and did a little shopping--which is why I didn't make a blog post. I decided to wait until today, our first day exploring Dublin. Our first stop of the day was Kilmainham Gaol Museum (gaol is pronounced 'jail', fyi). Kilmainham Gaol is a former jail that closed its doors in 1924. This jail housed everyone from leaders of...Read More

Last Full Day in Amsterdam: Van Gogh Museum, Moco Museum, and more

Today is our last full day in Amsterdam. Tomorrow we will catch a flight to Dublin for our last--I know, I am just as sad as you are--Semana Santa stop. I can't believe that Semana Santa is almost over. I remember counting down the days until this week happened and now we're nearing the end of it which means we're getting closer and closer to my return to the United States. But I don't want to think or write about that yet so back...Read More
Amsterdam Day Two: Keukenhof, Ice Bar, Belgian Fries, and more

Amsterdam Day Two: Keukenhof, Ice Bar, Belgian Fries, and more

Besides being known for sex, weed, and canals, Amsterdam is also known for its tulips. That's one of the main reasons I wanted to come to Amsterdam, especially in the spring. I love plants and flowers so to see the tulip fields was a MUST for me when I decided to come here. So thats exactly what we did this morning. Keukenhof is the place to go if you're in Amsterdam during the spring and want to see the tulips. They have more than...Read More
Amsterdam Day One: Anne Frank House and Red Light District

Amsterdam Day One: Anne Frank House and Red Light District

Today started at 3:45am. I know. It was beyond rough. We took a shuttle to the airport, hiked to our terminal, went through security, and were seated and waiting to board the plane all before 6am. The sun hadn't even rose as we began boarding the plan to Amsterdam. The flight to Amsterdam happened so quick. It seemed like as soon as we took off they were announcing that we were making our descent. After getting our bags, we took a train from the...Read More
Last Day in Paris: Easter at Versailles

Last Day in Paris: Easter at Versailles

Today was our last full day in Paris and I am really sad about it. I have fallen absolutely in love with this city, but the adventure most continue and tomorrow we fly to Amsterdam and I could not be more excited. So, for our last day in Paris we decided to go to the Palace of Versailles. The Palace of Versailles is the official residence of the Kings of France and it's a popular travel location for people visiting Paris. We were sent...Read More
Paris Day Two: Flea Market, Sacré Couer, Notre Dame, and More

Paris Day Two: Flea Market, Sacré Couer, Notre Dame, and More

I usually don’t sleep well in places that aren’t “home”. I’m not sure why but I struggle falling asleep in hotels and hostels. But last night, after I hit submit on my blog and my head hit the pillow, I was out. I might have woken up once during the night which is rare for me when I’m sleeping somewhere else—it’s usually at least 5 times. I also slept until my alarm went off, something else strange for me. But that’s the perfect indication...Read More

Paris Day One: Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, The Louvre, and more

I woke up in Santander, spent the day in Madrid (at the airport), and fell asleep in Paris.  My life here in Europe is always full of new adventure and that’s one of the things I’m going to miss the most when I come back home to America. Today, the day you’re reading this, is Friday and it’s technically my second day here in Paris but I’m going to call it my first because yesterday doesn’t count. Yesterday we flew from Santander to Madrid...Read More
